John Noble's Locomotives
John Noble was a member of the SSMRS from 1954 until his death in 1988. Most of his locos were built in the 1950s to a very high standard. The Ivatt 2-6-2T has fully working Walschaerts valve gear which changes from forward to backward gear as appropriate before the locomotive starts off - all done with 1950s electronics. They all still exist and the photos below were taken shortly before they were auctioned to members of the society in 2010. Click on a picture to see a larger, blown up version. |
